What In The World Is Rotary?

Rotary is a global network of more than 1.2 million volunteers, organized into individual and localized clubs. We are problem solvers that help make our communities better one step at a time, and we can’t do it without you.

If you are looking to volunteer, give back to the community, or just make new friends, feel free to reach out to us. We’d be happy to have you at a meeting and buy you lunch. Contact us to learn more.

Local Partnerships to Help Those Close To Us

Rotarians believe in helping out where we can. Sometimes that internationally, sometimes it’s nationwide, but most often it is right in our own back yards. Our back yards happen to be Northglenn and Thornton, Colorado. We are very passionate about giving back to those communities and helping the amazing people in them grow!

Northglenn and Thornton Projects for Rotary

There are a slew of projects we work on annually, and some that come up as one-offs when a need arises. A few of our repeating service projects are below.

Scholarships: Our club routinely donates more than $15,000-$20,000 to students in Northglenn and Thornton schools so they can attend college.

Student of the Month: Local schools nominate a student to receive our student-of-the-month award. We have enough schools lined up to be fortunate enough to award these each week during the school year.

CASA: We help children who need help in the court system due to events out of their control. We provide Christmas presents, donations, and help in other ways as well.

RYLA: Young leaders are able to participate in a Rotary Leadership camp every year in Evergreen.

Big Idea Project: Many of our members were mentors for this great organization that helps mold young leaders in the community.

Food Banks: We have been fortunate enough to raise $10,000 or more each year for local food banks. CITY PROJECTS

Senior Hub: Members of our club assist at different senior centers through the community with their various needs.

Water purification: Our club has donated time and dollars to various water purification causes worldwide

Uganda: One of our members served in the Peace Corps, and through that amazing experience made many connections in Uganda. Our club has supported efforts to better the lives of specific individuals and causes due this member’s service.

What Does Rotary Do?

Rotary believes in six service areas:

1) Promoting peace
2) Fighting disease
3) Providing clean water, sanitation and hygiene
4) Saving mothers and children
5) Supporting education
6) Growing local economies

Rotarians and Rotary clubs come together to work as a team to accomplish several worthy service projects that assist many in our communities and worldwide.

The Four-Way Test

What you can expect from our club in Northglenn and Thornton is a group of Rotarians that follows our four-way test. Rotarians use the four-way test as a moral code for personal and business relationships. It is a quick assessment test that can be applied to virtually any aspect of life. We do this by asking four simple questions:

1) Is it the TRUTH?
2) Is it FAIR to all concerned?
4) Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

What else can you expect is a fellowship, friendship, and fun. We are a group of people that believe in service above self.

We believe there is something for anyone in Rotary. Come check out one of our meetings and share with us what your passion might be to help.
